交通诱导室外显示系统一般由室外LED显示屏、主指挥中心控制系统（分指挥中心控制系统）、通讯系统等部分组成。室外显示屏通过有线或无线方式连接到主中心或分指挥中心的通讯服务器。根据交通诱导信息室外显示系统要实现的功能，系统总体采用分布式多级控制方式。能够接受主中心、分中心、本地三级控制。
